Achievements
Road development
The construction of the flyovers at BDA junction, Agara and Ibbalur are
completed and opened for traffic. Traffic congestion has eased considerably.
Asphalting of the roads have begun and signboards with PID numbers are being put up. |
Education
New Government Degree College is inaugurated and operational. New PUC College Building is
under construction in HSR 4th sector. Government schools at Agara and Ibbalur have
been provided with better infrastructure.

Vocational Training
A tailoring training center is opened in Ibalur. 75 underprivileged women were
trained in beautician course. Driving lessons are being given for unemployed
youth.

Day Care Center
A Disabled and senior citizen day care center is opened in Agara.
The Senior Citizens of Low income group are provided with identity Cards.
Widow pension, handicap pension, old age pension can be availed at the center.
There are also indoor games, a library, a reading room.
Food is provided and regular Health Check up and Medical advices are also organised.
Personal Councelling for Senior Citizens is available at the center.

Arogya Shri Health scheme
The goal of Vajpayee ArogyaShri scheme is to make available quality medical treatments
free of cost to BPL families, slum dwellers, corporation contract workers and cleaners,
auto rikshaw drivers, widows and disabled persons availing pension from government.

Hot meals
Centers for serving hot meals are opened at Agara and Ibalur. Senior Citizens from
BPL families are provided hot meals at Ibalur Samudaya Bhavan and in Agara,
at the center near the Government School.

Bus Service
Just a couple of years ago HSR Layout lacked good bus services inside the layout.
As a result of this old people and children were put into hardship. In this
background a feeder bus service was started. The feeder bus service connects
different areas of the ward with other bus routes of the city for the
convinience of the residents.

Garadi Mane
A new Garadi Mane (traditional wrestling gym) was inaugrated in HSR Layout 1st Sector,
which is open to all residents.

Planting Saplings
Saplings are planted along the road and in the parks to provide more trees.
Also, numerous parks are developed giving them new shape and more green cover.

Welfare Measures
Several welfare schemes have been introduced for BPL families.
Push Carts and Cycles are provided for handicapped. Professional kits are
also distributed. This apart other welfare schemes like Sandhya Suraksha,
Bhagyalakshmi and destitute widow pension are implemented.

Infrastructure
For illumination of streets we have provided 920 sodium vapour lamps,
100 tube lights, two high mask lights. 6 more high mask lights are also newly
installed.

Underground Drainage
The problem of underground drainage was serious in some parts of our Ward
posing a serious public health hazard. Therefore, the drainage system was
set right on a priority basis.

Waste Management
Corporator Latha Narasimhamurthy with the co-operation of residents of HSR Layout is going all out to make the
layout clean and garbage-free. A campaign was recently launched to create awareness about waste segregation
in Agara Village and HSR Layout 4th Sector. The campaign emphasized the need for separating wet
and dry kitchen wastes and putting them in two different bins (red and green) and handing them
over to garbage collectors. To this end waste bins were distributed with the corporator, Smt Latha
Narasimhamurthy personally leading the distribution.
