Why relief for Bangladeshis?- Bangalore Mirror Corporator Latha who visited the spot on Sunday morning alleged that the area is full of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. "There are local people who are residing here for long. But day by day, the Bangladeshi population has increased," she said. She also argued that the state government should not pay compensation to illegal Bangadeshis. "The Bangladeshi government should take care of its citizens, not India. Around 300 illegal sheds been constructed in the area and cops are ignoring it. The issue has been brought to BBMP commissioner's notice. He has assured that he will initiate action," she added.

Road Digging stoppped HSR Ward Corporator, Smt Latha Narasimhamurthy, bars company from digging up newly laid 24th main road. The road was repaired at a cost of Rs 4 crore. A private company was going to dig the road to lay OFC cables.

Agara College enhancement The infrastructure of the government college at Agara is being enhanced. A new multi-purpose auditorium and a library is being constructed.

Waste segregration awareness drives In an ongoing effort to make HSR Layout a Zero Grabage ward, waste segregation awareness drive was organised in Sector 6 to educate the residents. In another effort to complement the segregation-at-source drive, BBMP pourakarmikas are educated to collect the garbage seperately from residencial and commercial buildings,

Lake fencing The Iblur lake fencing has begun with a Pooja attended by Corporator Smt Latha Narasimhamurthy. The lake side road is cleared using a JCB. The taluk office has initiated the survey to mark boundaries and clear encroachments.

Problems due to Plastic's overuse Speaking on the occasion of World Environment Day, Smt Latha Narasimhamurthy, talked about the effects of plastic on our environment and called upon the residents to reduce plastic bags use, to segregate waste at source and therefore join hands in making HSR Layout a Zero Grabage ward.

CM's visit to lake Chief Minister Siddharamaiah visited Agara lake on Saturday and inspected the lake. Various problems leading to the condition of the lake were discussed.
